Adolescence to Adult

Adolescence

Adolescence, commonly known as the teenage years, is a period marked by rapid physical growth and puberty-related changes. During this time, teens may experience sudden growth spurts followed by phases of slower development. These puberty-related transformations can happen gradually or may occur all at once.

It is important to recognize that each child undergoes these changes at their own pace. Some teenagers may reach puberty earlier or later than their peers, as the process varies for everyone.

For girls, puberty progresses in a sequence of events and typically begins earlier than in boys of the same age. However, the timing and order of these changes can differ among individuals.

Biologically, puberty involves a series of complex alterations at both the neural and endocrine levels over an extended period that result in changes in body shape (morphology), including the maturation of primary and secondary sex characteristics during late childhood and early adolescence and, ultimately, the acquisition of reproductive maturity.

At Prameya Health through Prana Sakhi, we support teenagers through the transformative journey of Adolescence marked by rapid physical, emotional and social changes with holistic care across the FENS dimensions, empowering them to build resilience, self-awareness, and healthy lifelong habits.
